Day 3 : Inspired by nature
Although I prefer to admire frogs from afar, their round eyes that seem to always be suspicious of something, and their interesting textures have fascinated me. And this made them the perfect subject for the task assigned today - to draw and build another piece of functional pottery with a decorative touch, using the pinching method.
Inspired by the squatting position of a toad, I designed an oil burner, with a lily pad resting on its head for the oil. The texture was meant to be formed by carving out sections of the pot in a honey comb pattern to give a geometric interpretation of its textured skin.
And I have to say, I'm quite happy with the way the little toad turned out. 😁
